With over 150 staff, CB Civil cover a wide range of projects from three waters to rail, structures, and land development.
Among the equipment or products, they have bought, or hired, from Guardian (who also supply and service their vital trench shields) are davit arm systems.
Johan Potgieter from the CB Civil team said the Guardian davit kits – used for safe tool transfer into manholes of two metres-plus depth, and for human fall arrest - are very easy to use. “It’s just a two guy job to set them up, and we have 30 guys who are trained in installation. It’s plain sailing once they’re clamped to the trench shield.” Johan says some access holes and davit arm winches can be in place for up to four months.
CB Civil use a two safety harness system to ensure fall protection anywhere there is potential risk to workers on site.
Johan says Guardian’s products and service are excellent. “You never have to ask for anything twice. And they always bring lollies!
They’re good to deal with. We’d 100% recommend them.”
Michael Hoyle Guardian's BOP/Waikato Territory Manager says, typically used on sewer and stormwater systems, the davit arm assembly clamps to the side of the manhole shield panel giving maximum reach and utility, whilenot encroaching on the work area. “They’re really great in tight spaces. And, in an emergency, they can be used to lift someone out safely.”
Guardian davit arm winches are both for sale and for hire.
A huge shout out to CB Civil to acknowledge all their charitable work in their community; working with special children and cleaning up the environment. What a great example!
