Lighter, more compact, and much easier to use than hefty, old-school fire extinguishers. Fire Terminators from TransQuip are effective across the whole range of fire categories

What fires does the terminator cover?

(A, B, C, D, E & F) and also, Lithium-ion batteries, like power tool batteries, or phone/ computer batteries, (please note the terminator is not large enough to put out a lithium car battery, a battery on an electric scooter would be the largest it could fight, according to fire terminator). Used in phones, PCs, power tools, and vehicles, these devices are subject to thermal runaway, where the battery’s temperature can increase uncontrollably.

Mark Townshend from the TransQuip team says using Fire Terminator is a “no-brainer”.

What size extinguisher does the fire terminator compared to?

The Fire Terminator hydrodynamic spray can deliver fire-stopping performance comparable to a 1.5-2kg dry-powder extinguisher, in fire categories that powder units can’t handle.

Its cooling and encapsulation technology prevent re-ignition and leave no toxic residue, making it safer for people – even in confined spaces - and for our environment.

What is the spray distance and discharge time?

With a reach of 2-7 metres, so you don’t have to get close to the danger, and a discharge time of 15 seconds, Fire Terminator is as easy to use as an air freshener.

Does the Terminator leave a mess when used?

No, not like a powder or foam extinguisher is. Cleanup is easy, since the substance inside is like whipping up water.

What standards is the Terminator rated to?

Certification under AS/NZS 4255:1995 is not required for this product. The fire terminator does, however, meet all requirements set out in the standard. As it is non-aerosol and non-toxic, using no aerosol chemicals, no New Zealand fire certification is required for the sale or use of Fire Terminator.

What is the Terminator's shelf life?

The can has a 10-year shelf life, so no more yearly tagging & servicing costs or 3-5-year replacement costs, saving you money & time. Plus, you can use it and use it again, just stop spraying.

Where can I use the terminator?

Mark says that, particularly for trucks, utes or even your garage in case of electric battery fire from a power tool, the can is a game changer; it effectively deals with fires and prevents potential damage to the driver and cab in the event of a crash, unlike a heavy, conventional extinguisher, which can be difficult to use. “It truly is a one-size-fits-all solution for fires.”

How do I store it?

Super portable (Fire Terminator can be stored in a glove box), it’s also available with a bracket for vertical or horizontal mounting, in cabs, workshops, boat cabins, forklifts etc. When deciding where to store the terminator, please make sure it is in an easily accessible position for quick access.

How many cans would you need in the average, car, truck, and house?

We would recommend one terminator in a car/ Ute, two on a truck and 3 in a house, to make sure it is easily accessible no matter where you are.

How do I use a fire terminator?

To use the Fire Terminator, pop the lid off and push down on the red nozzle, just treat it like you’re spray painting. Apply the spray directly to the flames and make sure you cover the whole area. Once the surface is coated, the product’s no-burn-back action stops the fire from re-igniting while the solution remains in place.

How do I dispose of the can once used?

You can dispose of the cans through normal waste channels, whether they’re empty, partly used, or still full. The contents contain no toxic chemicals — they’re biodegradable and break down in water.

The metal can is recyclable, with only the plastic cap and nozzle needing to be separated.
