Wheel Chocks
At TransQuip, we have options available for motorists in New Zealand. Our wheel chocks are made from high-density rubber, so you can be sure that they will be able to hold your vehicle from sliding down a slope if the brakes gives way. Our wheel chocks are designed for use on all types of commercial vehicles. It doesn't matter if it is a truck or a trailer tanker; we have just the right option for you.
Don't let your truck be a runaway. Safety laws recommend that wheel chocks are vital for all commercial vehicles. They are particularly employed in stopping vehicles from rolling when they are stationary - especially on a hill. While they may not look like much, wheel chocks can help prevent you from an unnecessary situation with your commercial vehicle. It is very dangerous if the brakes give way on a large commercial vehicle like a truck, as it can roll away, possibly damaging anything that lies in its path. A little slope or uneven terrain can result in your truck or trailer rolling - so be on the alert!
How to use a wheel chock:
- 1. Buy wheel chocks that are roughly 25% of the diameter of your vehicle tyre (for example, a 760 mm diameter tyre would need a 190 mm high wheel chock).
- 2. Park your vehicle properly, leaving the brakes on.
- 3. Install the wheel chocks tightly into the tyres beneath the right and left wheels on the base of the slope.
To become even safer use a handbrake alarm.
